Meet Chelsea

Chelsea is a self-proclaimed crazy dog lady. Her dedication to animal welfare began as a child, when her family rescued a stray pitbull (Lucky) knocking on death’s doorstep from a garbage pile in Detroit. She was curled up next to her deceased sibling, so weak she couldn’t walk anymore. They nursed her back to health and she became the greatest companion a family could ever ask for. She is now about to celebrate her 16th Gotcha Day. As an adult, Chelsea has fostered(and failed) a dozen dogs and volunteered with multiple rescue organizations. She previously served on the board for Friends of Detroit Animal Care and Control. She works as a professional dog groomer and grooming instructor in Royal Oak, where she gives fancy new haircuts and gets puppy snuggles and kisses every day. Chelsea lives with her fiancé Chris and their six rescue dogs: Kodiak, Ezra, Andromeda, Bean, Toofer and Baxter. Her dream is to live in a world where rescue doesn’t have to exist anymore.
